The Mission of The New Athena Project is to develop a Sustainable Energy Policy Plan to be offered to candidates running for political office.
This project was begun in response to the clamor for a “New Apollo” project that is focused on Hydrogen as the solution to our energy crisis.
Repeated attempts to communicate with key planners of the “Apollo Alliance” went ignored for months which left the author with the conclusion that they had no interest in the concepts being offered here.
To be clear, many of the points outlined in the Apollo Alliance plan are valid, however two key points are insufficiently addressed, and the emphasis on Hydrogen as a complete solution is scientifically flawed.
The New Athena Project emphasizes Conservation and Biofuels, in that order, as a more realistic approach to reducing pollution, halting climate change, reducing reliance on fossil fuels, improving rural economies and securing a reliable domestic supply of energy.
Everyone is invited to contribute their comments or position papers, and to join in the public discussion to help develop a Sustainable Energy Policy Plan to be offered to any candidate for political office.
There are no big money interests behind this project to promote their agendas. This is not to say that we do not want to hear from the large energy companies. As a matter of fact, we value their input and specifically invite them to join the discussion to outline and justify the approaches they are offering to address our current and future energy policy.
It is recognized that there are other policy projects that are fully developed and that offer much of the same information that is being extended here. The difference in this project is our singleness of purpose, which is to develop a Sustainable Energy Policy Plan to be offered candidates running for political office.
If you agree that this is a worthwhile project, your financial support is requested!
